Tempico: time-to-digital converter

Tausand Tempico TP1204 time-to-digital converter enabled for 0ns measures, released in 2026.
This is a family of time-to-digital converters (TDCs), ideal to measure time differences between electrical pulses in particle detection, microscopy, and quantum optics experiments.
Tausand Tempico TP1004 and TP1204 have a common start input, 4 independent stop inputs, and an optional gate input. They measure the elapsed time between the start and each of the stops, with a resolution of 56ps.
- In TP1004: start-stop times may be in the range from 12ns to 4ms.
- In TP1204: start-stop times may be in the range from -200ns to 4ms. Capable of measuring 0ns.
Some of its adjustable settings are:
- input voltage threshold from 0.9V to 1.6V.
- Multi-cycle averaging, from 1 to 128 averaging cycles.
- Multiple stops on the same input: 1 to 5.
- Measures on rising or falling edges.
Inputs use SMA connectors coupled at 50 ohm, accepting digital signals with high-levels from 1.0V up to 5V.
